I love to turn green wood but am always afraid of the cracking. We dry our wood in paper bags with shavings. But I usually turn a thick bowl and then return it when it is <15% moisture content. Do you have any suggestions?
don't be afraid, experiment! turn the piece to the finisihed thickness right away and dry it in a paper bag as well as plastic bag and check it every day at first.
